Chapter 6

When everything flashes before your eyes. When you feel like these moments could be the last moments of your life. Maybe this is the last breath you take and the last sight you see. This could be it.

That’s exactly how Layal felt when she looked up from her phones screen as she was driving on full speed to get away from the person who was following her, she crashed into the car in front of her.

Everything seemed to slow down, she screamed.
She felt the shreds of glass scratching against her skin from all sides of her windows. Her car was a completely destroyed.

The driver behind her took a sharp turn to the left and onto the emergency side. He was startled; he didn’t expect this to happen at all. He hopped out of his car and ran over to Layals car. Yes, it was Sager.

She was so scared that the pain she was feeling started to numb out, even though it was still there, her vision slowly blurred and she passed out.

Hours later.

Layal opened her eyes to what seems to look like a white room. The strong aroma of the hospital shot up her nose.

She groaned, “sh-shno 9ar?”
“Bnty 7abeebty!” Layals mother got up from the chair next to the bed layal was on and kissed her daughters head.
“shno 9ar? Wainy?” Layal was confused the last thing she remembered was someones face, Sagers face.

“7abeebty allah fakach dashaytay ib 7adth.” Her mother broke down in tears.

“Bes bes bro7ha il bnt ta3bana la tabcheen, ya yoba ana moo gaylch la tsr3een. Allah fakach wla ba’3aitay tro7een mn eedna.” Said Layals father sounding concerened.

“Smla 3ala bnty fal allah wala falk!” Layals mother jumped in.

“Smla 3alayha bes ga3d a3almha ina ily sawta ‘3ala6.” Replied Layals father.

“7adeth?....” Layal slowly remembered everything that happened, all the memories came back at once like a strong wave.

Flashbacks of the beginning of the day when she saw Sager in uni till the last moments before she passed out when she saw his face.

She wanted to cry, but she held herself. She didn’t want her parents to see her hurt.

“Mta a6la3 mn hny?” Asked Layal.

“Inshalla bacher aw 3ogba.” Answered her father.

“Wayd! Akrah il mostashfayat yoba tkfa la t5aleeny mny!” Exclaimed Layal.

“Yoba moo bkaify hatha kalam il 6abeeb.” Replied her father.

Layal sighed, something was wrong utterly wrong. She felt numb from her waist down.

“….Laish moo gadra a7s ib ryooly?! Shisalfa?!” Layal tried to reach out to touch her legs. She was scared, she was dreading the thought that was going on through her mind.

“ Ya baba ihday ihday….il 7adth kan la athar 3alaich.” Her father tried to explain what happened while he felt like choking on his words.

“Yoba shga3d tgool?! Ana nshalayt?!” Layal felt warm tears filling up her eyes.

“hatha 8a’6a2 allah o 8adra ya bnty…il7mdla 3ala kl 7al. Ib ithn allah btamsheen mara thanya .” Her father couldn’t bare the sight of his daughter in pain.

Layal broke down in tears; she couldn’t handle the fact she might not ever be able to walk again.

A week later...
